As a simple connotation for the audience to explore was this image on the tshirt. It resembles the album by Two Door Cinema Club- Tourist History, the album where Come Back Home comes from.

Inspiration for Ancillary Tasks

Image for advert?

#

I think this image would be adequate to use for the advert. As I like the idea of using a graffiti effect for the band's advert and this building has a wide side to fit a picture on it. Graffiti is an everyday thing and usually done small scale, if people are looking at a magazine and come across an advert that has this image with graffiti across it, people are going to challege whether it's real and the image will remain in their mind causing them to make the link to the band and their song and want to go and buy or listen to it.

First Cut of Music Video!

This is the first cut of my final piece, I asked my media studies class mates to watch it and asked for their initial thoughts and feelings about the video. Here are their responses;

This is such a good video! I love the jumping for the book part as it shows that she really needs her dad, also the bit where the camera is looking from under the covers is really effective! and obviously the soppy moment at the end!! Nice one.

I really like this music video. It shows such creativity and originality. I really like where she is drawing on the whiteboard and then rubbing out the dad figure and the way it zooms in on the sad face. It is also really effective where she picks up the dad's clothes and puts them on. Overall I think it is a really good video. Well done!

Love it! Fantastic! I was thinking maybe the picking up the clothes off the floor was taking a bit too long but otherwise brilliant!

I think this music video is really good and effective. The topic of divorce is something different, which makes an emotional storyline. Also the camera shots are smooth and fit in well with the music!

This is a good piece of work Freya, it has clearly been well thought through and the underlining message of the music is emphasised well in the video. I thought the shot of the chalkboard with the words of the song was a very effective shot. I also think that although a little wobbly, your moving shots are very effective and really capture the intense mood of the story. Well done!

Well done, it works well and the theme goes with the song. I especially liked the ways in which the girl acted like her dad! If you wanted to improve I would suggest playing around with shot changes. There were sections with lots of short, snappy shots keeping the tempo high, whereas other sections had longer shots that seemed to draw out more than in other parts, although that might have been what you intended! Anyway, well done looks great.
