First Cut of Music Video!
Freya.....
Love the shaving cream moment - genius!
This is such a good video! I love the jumping for the book part as it shows that she really needs her dad, also the bit where the camera is looking from under the covers is really effective! and obviously the soppy moment at the end!! Nice one.
I really like this music video. It shows such creativity and originality. I really like where she is drawing on the whiteboard and then rubbing out the dad figure and the way it zooms in on the sad face. It is also really effective where she picks up the dad's clothes and puts them on. Overall I think it is a really good video. Well done!
Love it! Fantastic! I was thinking maybe the picking up the clothes off the floor was taking a bit too long but otherwise brilliant!
I think this music video is really good and effective. The topic of divorce is something different, which makes an emotional storyline. Also the camera shots are smooth and fit in well with the music!
This is a good piece of work Freya, it has clearly been well thought through and the underlining message of the music is emphasised well in the video. I thought the shot of the chalkboard with the words of the song was a very effective shot. I also think that although a little wobbly, your moving shots are very effective and really capture the intense mood of the story. Well done!
Well done, it works well and the theme goes with the song. I especially liked the ways in which the girl acted like her dad! If you wanted to improve I would suggest playing around with shot changes. There were sections with lots of short, snappy shots keeping the tempo high, whereas other sections had longer shots that seemed to draw out more than in other parts, although that might have been what you intended! Anyway, well done looks great.
This music video is really good. I love the way that you use the board to express certain things its really effective when watching it. I also love the ending its different and works really well with the song. Great video well done
I love this!! The whole story is really interesting to watch and fits perfectly with the music, i especially like the use of the chalk board and the soppy moment at the end as they emphasise the whole emotion of the video. Well done!

Music Magazine advert

As you can see each magazine advert follows a similar design format, an image and then information underneath the image. The Gwen Stefani and the Gorillaz advert both have images of themselves on their advertisements whereas the Hotlines does not. The images have also all been edited in some format, either through light altering, colour editing and other effects added through editing software such as photoshop. The Hotlines advert isn't that appealing or eye catching as it doesn't have much colour and the font is plain and simple, this advert is more likely to be dismissed than the other two. So I must include bright colours and alternative interesting font in my magazine advert. The text in the Hotlines is also the most simple, but at least it is more memorable, you know when the album is out and there are no other details to fuss with which is important. Whereas the Gwen Stefani advert has an intricate font which some viewers could find hard to read and there is very small print at the bottom, so the only text that will stick in your brain is the Gwen Stefani Love. Angel. Music. Baby, which is the name of the album, that is also relevant, so the other details should be the release date or reviews. On the Gorillaz advertisement they have their date and where clearly marked in the centre in large font making it easily recogniseable and memorable too. The other details are at the bottom in smaller font because they are of lesser importance. If I can combine the positive and effective traits from these three advertisements, I should have a good outcome.

Choosing the Characters

Neve :
Perfect for the role, as she is the biological child of Trudy and Stuart she looks like them which makes the video even more believable.
- She is also at an age where she is old enough to follow my directions to act and keep concentrated in acting too.
- Plus she is at an age where should would follow her dad and try to compensate through doing his usual activities, whereas at any other age it would be a much different approach to her father leaving.

Trudy:
The biological mother of Neve makes her look more like eachother making the story and characters more believable.
As she is a mother and married she knows the pressures of an arguement in a relationship and also would compensate with the feeling of loss if her partner was to leave.
As she is a part of a family, she also can empathise with the guilt and sadness she would feel if her child was left without a father.

Stuart:
The biological father of Neve, they look very similar.
As a father he feels obliged to support and love his children and so could never actually leave his family.
As a husband he can also understand the pressures in a relationship when arguing and sometimes leaving is the best resolution.
Because Neve is his daughter, the feelings they would have when he returned would be heartfelt and realistic, and not just an actor acting with another actor.
Also, as these are my own family members they are more likely to act in the way I ask and if any changes or reshoots need to be made they can be done instantly without having to wait for a convenient time for any other actors.
